C ZERO SPORT CLUBS project

The “Network of Carbon Neutral Sports Clubs” (C ZERO SPORTS CLUBS) project is a European Project of the Erasmus+ Programme. This project has a consortium of 7 organisations from 7 different countries (Turkey, Bulgaria, Croatia, Portugal, Italy, Serbia and Greece), aiming to encourage small sport clubs in Europe to take action and develop a sustainable understanding for climate action by introducing themes of environmental management, digital tools and environmental responsibility.

In fact, this responsibility applies mainly to local sports clubs, which should extend their activities beyond sports, in order to create visibility of these themes in society, helping to develop environmentalist behaviours.

With the Carbon Neutral Sport Clubs Network, we intend to establish a roadmap for future environmental activities to be applied within the clubs, using recycled materials, eco-lamps, organising attractive planting activities, among others. The present project starts with a Climate Footprint Measurement Program (environmental and sports activities) and will be developed according to specific needs. After the pilot implementation, the programme will become a Carbon Footprint Measurement Application extendable to other sports clubs.
